Detached

face of a mummy in the dark
I will come unexpected
through the sickness
through the viral

I will come to wipe out the night

An abortion of our secret
has become the spiral wing
in the hand of menace

I will be through the glimpse

I’ll turn your body and make it swear again,
then we’ll dance on your parade
in the end I will come to you
through a veil
no one sees

Oh mother can’t you see the horror?

Your child is gasping on a rim
out loud, these words not spoken
in a filth of poison stings

Now here it is in my hand
like victims, as we lay down
in the name of remedy
we all grow apart it seems

And when time comes
hold on skin
cast away the scars and all
we lay down on our feet
to the mirror mask we worship

*

The path was rough and old
last remains far, away
from home

For on this night you stand
still as I speak
your name no more
